Pictures from Joyce's Safari Trip

All things bright and beautiful.
All creatures great and small.
All things wise and wonderful.
The Lord God made them all.

He gave us eyes to see them.
And lips that we might tell.
How great is God Almighty.
Who has made all things well.

Excerpt from All Things Bright and Beautiful

You looking at me?

Then God saw everything that he had made, and indeed it was very good.

Peace to You,

More from Joyce's South Africa Trip

So I know I've been promising more about Joyce's missions trip to South Africa, so here goes. Due to a significant event in her life this past year, Joyce, felt a pull to be a part of something greater than herself. After praying, she felt that God was calling her to work with children and she wanted to do that in South Africa. So, she raised funds at the last minute, and ended up flying out on the day we were celebrating our country's independence. She left home, where the weather was hot and steamy and landed in South Africa's winter season. Needless to say, she was unprepared for that change in temperature, but God still kept her warm and safe in a new country while she waited to rendezvous with her contact from Alon Farm.

Joyce worked with fellow believers on Alon Farm, Tzaneen-city in the province of Limpopo.  She ended up staying from July 4th - August 14. She worked with the orphans on the farm, and taught the little ones how to read. She also had the opportunity to work in the greenhouse, and planted many different food plants. Alon Farm is a place like none other. There believers are trying to live together in unity and love, and are holding up a light for the world to see. Artists and farmers work along side each other, using their gifts to point others to Christ. If you haven't already, please check them out here: http://www.alon.org.za/index.html
Please continue to pray for the work that is being done there.

The sight of well-fed and loved children is even better.

Joyce says the everything on the farm has been crafted in excellence.

The micro-greens she helped plant.

More Greens

Need to confirm if this was over Amsterdam, but it was too lovely to exclude.

Pure and undefiled religion in the sight of our God and Father is this:
to visit orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself unstained by the world.
~James 1:27

Peace to You,

Simone

Unexpected Blessings

This summer my friend, Joyce, had the wonderful opportunity to go on a mission's trip to South Africa. She would be writing this herself, but she say's she's no blogger. She is a teacher, dancer, daughter of God, and now missionary. Joyce came for dinner this past weekend and shared so much with our family that now Little E is ready to go on a mission's trip herself.

Below is a picture of Joyce with the kids of the Little Oaks Children Home at Alon Farm in South Africa. Alon Farm is a ministry of Alon International and you can find their information here: http://www.alon.org.za/index.html

Check them out. Talk about being the hands and feet of Christ. The families at Alon Farm are truly living like the early followers of the Way.

Nor was there any among them who lacked; for all who were possessors of land or houses sold them, and brought the proceeds of things that were sold, and laid them at they apostles' feet; and they distributed to each as anyone had need.  ~Acts 4:34-35 (NKJV)

I'll be sharing more of Joyce's story over the next few days: the good, the bad, and the blessings. Well, I think the only bad was the unexpected cold, so I guess what I'll really be sharing is the good, the beautiful, and the blessings.

I pray when you have the opportunity to bless someone else today, that you will rise to the occasion to the praise of His Glory.

Lovin' Him,

Simone
