Rest [ 5 Minute Fridays ]

"He restores my soul. He leads me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake."

I've been thinking lately on my role as a wife and as a mother. Thinking about what it is God requires of me. He wants me to rest in him, but not just for the sake of resting, but rather for RESTORATION. And why does he want to restore me? He wants to bring me back to a place of fullness in him, so that I'll be able to pour into my family.

Imagine that. I want to be rest for my husband. I want him to know that I'll be the soft place that he needs to lay his head. I'll be his rest as much I can be. Sometimes that means making sure there's a special meal prepared just the way he likes it, or that fresh towels are ready as needed, or that he can speak freely of what's in his heart, and I can just really listen. Not give my opinion or idea, but just to listen.

God loves us, but his work in RESTORING us is not just for us, but for HIS GLORY. So when I get HIS WORD in my heart, mind, and spirit I am prepared to be REST for my husband and for my children, all for HIS GLORY.

  3. Enjoyed your perspective on rest. We can sometimes be so focused on accomplishing things that much needed rest falls to the bottom of the list.

  4. Rest - Restoration - Service. I love this connection your made for me. I guess I knew it all goes together but never saw it the way I do now. Knowing this gives a freedom to rest when I need to

    1. So glad you do. Praying for you and Luis and all you need to do in the next month. Thinking about what you said the other day. Mulling it all over, and having issues leaving comments for you. What do I do?
