Angry words with that kid. Yes, you know the one, that takes you to your highest highs and your lowest lows. The one you can trust to take care of you in your old age . . .you think. Pray and apologize, I did. Then he cried and I cried. This mama needs to breathe - in - more of the One.
"Mama, can I help you cook?"
"Definitely, Princess."
And then that highest high kid, comes to help, too. In fact, he does most of the work, and his words are a treasure, "I FORGIVE YOU!" And then he takes charge of making our family's comfort food. And that was the best soup ever, according to him.
"I am a prime example of why Jesus came," I tell him.

Sounds like a good place to be, on many levels. May it continue to be...:)

DeleteBlessed weekend to you.
Oh yes, this was amazing. What a picture you painted of those most important moments. Thank you for sharing with us!
ReplyDeleteThank you for stopping by. Your words are ever encouraging. I always feel like I'm too transparent, so I really appreciate it.
DeleteBlessed weekend.
I've had those moments. It's an amazing thing to be able to apologize to your children and have them forgive you. They see how human we are. Stopping in from FMF for the first time ever.
ReplyDeleteI think sometimes we can be afraid that others, our kids included, will see us as being weak in our humility. But I'm reminded of the King who left his throne in glory, knelt before his disciples, washed their feet, and died a humiliating death on a cross for me.
DeleteAmazingly beautiful post.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Denise.
DeleteHappy Weekend!
captivated by your beautiful photo at 5 Minute Friday!

You're welcome and thanks for your kind words. Blessings to you and a Happy Weekend, too.
DeleteAren't we all prime examples of why Jesus came? I know I am. That you for sharing your vulnerability as a parent and on this blog. That is what will make our children truly strong - knowing they can be vulnerable and still be okay.
ReplyDeleteYes, indeed. You're quite welcome. I'm learning as I go, because I didn't grow up with adults who were ever wrong. Thank God for good friends in real life and in the blog world.
DeleteHappy Weekend to you.
