Baby Zoey is absolutely the best gift that God could've given us. She's lovely and she's cutting her first tooth. She's not crawling, but is trying to walk. She's grabbing at everything that comes into view, and her smile just lights up the room.
AFTER Zoey, Mama is needing much grace, for the things out of place, and the dinner that's just a tad late, for the laundry that's not done and for the rest that's half done. Life AFTER Zoey is all sugar and spice, with some mess mixed in, and though I'm tired, I keep telling myself this - - -"The days are long, but the years are short. The days are long, but the years are short . . ."

Heading into our 4th here....and it's a good reminder, one we're experiencing already. "the days are long, but the years are short..." Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations. What a blessing! Enjoy each and every moment, even the messy ones.
Deletejust when you think you get the hang of it... sounds familiar. Grace is always there waiting. thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by. I was thinking that I #4 is here to show me how much I really need more of HIM. Less of me and more of HIM.
DeleteGlad you shared.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by. I so need to be on my knees more.
DeleteOh my gosh! I can so relate. I felt the same way after I brought home number two. There is a this sense of not quite settled and not quite confident as you're transitioning and adjusting to a new baby. I loved your meditation -"The days are long, but the years are short. The days are long, but the years are short . . ." I try to rememeber that I do when my kids are crazy and I want to hide from them. I should enjoy the time I have with them, long days, short years, and all. Thanks for sharing. I'm stopping by from FMF.

I hear you loud and clear. Mothering brings you to the highest highs and the lowest lows, but every moment is so worth it. I'm trying to sear the precious ones into my heart because you don't realize how little you remember 'til the older ones ask questions about their infancy. Yikes!
DeleteShe is beautiful! :) God bless you all.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Lois. She's been a blessing and an answer to many prayers after a few losses, but we serve a God who is faithful and true. And though if he hadn't sent her, it wouldn't have diminished his character at all, I'm so glad he did.
DeleteGood post!! Keep reminding yourself that, and giving yourself grace! Enjoy these precious moments with her, and God will give you all the energy and strength you need! :)
ReplyDeleteMaria,
DeleteThanks for the reminders. Blessings to you.
Gorgeous daughter! That is a great quote to have close at heart. Stopping by from FMF!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by.
DeleteI love it. What a beautiful treasure you have in Zoey! What beautiful words you have written - honest and loving. Thank you for sharing this
ReplyDeleteThanks for your encouraging words. Happy Weekend to you.
Deletedrawn to your beautiful picture but so happy I stopped by your blog...#4 at age 44 took me for a loop but I know he is Gods gracious gift and I/we have adjusted. and we keep adjusting. seriously, every time I think I get a rhythm going, I start to hear another tune..playing softly but loud enough to hear. and I intuitively start to move with it..bending and swaying to a constantly shifting beat. what's up with that? lol. be blessed and encouraged dear sister - the days are long but the years....are short
ReplyDelete"Adjusting to a new rhythm . . .bending and swaying. . ."
DeleteWhat lovely imagery! Thanks for your words of encouragement. His mercy endures forever.
oHHHH MY GOODNESS what an adorable little poppet you have!! Zoey is gorgeous. LOVE the photo. And yes, that quote is so true - cling onto it for all the hard times.....
ReplyDeleteThank you so much. She is precious and we are so very thankful for her. Arms flung wide in gratitude for her- the gift we never expected, but can I say that the very best gift is learning to walk with HIM every day!
DeleteGrace on you & a Happy Weekend, Too.
