Welcome New Family Members

Do you know how hard it is to get a good picture of fish? Those little things just keep swimming even when you tell them to be still. Little E has decided to make her own science center, and we love to support the creative spirit in all our kids. My first suggestion for the science center was a dog? Go figure! We already have one. His name is Luke Skywalker. He's not new: he's been around for a few years. I was told Luke couldn't be in the science center because he's a dog. Hey, I refuse to argue with illogical people. Here's Luke.

Luke Skywalker, Jedi warrior.

Here are the new guys. Well one's a new guy for sure. The other could be either a guy or a gal. Who knows?

This is Thunder's fish, Sapphire, a male Betta.

This is E's fish, Bacci, the not-so-gold fish.

I think Sapphire is self-explanatory, but Bacci is named for my friend Anna's monster fish Bacci. He' not really a monster, he's just a big guys who ingests other fish. My kids are obsessed with the original Bacci and discuss his eating habits regularly. Anna says, Bacci is Italian for kisses, and this kiss spends his day blowing kisses to anyone who gets close to his tank. Hooray! Two more creatures to keep alive, but it's great because they are for the science center.

So God created sea creatures and every living thing that moves, with which the water abounded, according to their kind, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. And God blessed them, saying, "Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let birds multiply on the earth." So the evening, and the morning were the fifth day.
