It's Our Sabbath Week

We are excited about our Sabbath week here in our homeschooling world. We worked for six weeks and are taking the seventh one off, in a sense. I wish I could take credit for this wonderful idea, but it came from The Well Planned Day homeschooling planner. I wish I could give them total credit, but having a day of rest is a Biblical principal. God did it, and so do we.

And on the seventh day God ended His work which he had done, and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had done. Genesis 2:2

Having a Sabbath week to look forward to, change our whole attitude about school and learning. We could give it our all for 6 weeks, knowing that at the end of that, would come a week of rest. Well some of us gave our all. The best part was that we planned this with friends, to make the week more enjoyable.

On Monday, we had a session called Dissecting with Dominic, led by my eldest. As you can see, the young scientists were very excited. If you'd like pictures of the dissected specimen, just send a request.

The kids were able to identify the organs, which I think was the best part. Book learning is great, but you've got to get your hands dirty. Like Ms. Frizzle would say, "Take Chances! Make Mistakes! Get messy!"

Grace and Peace Rest Upon You!
